Jaguars 10U starting to gel...
After 3 tournaments the 10U Jaguars are really starting to gel - posting an early 5-5 record.
The first-year Jags dominated their division at the Fencor Easter Egg Shootout, suffering a single loss to a 11U team. Tenacious defense, solid team play and balanced scoring guided the Jags to the strong start.
The team faced new challenges at the Regional Qualifier hosted by the Northeast Rockers at Lincoln High School in Philadelphia. Competing in D1, the Jags quickly realized they would need to find a new gear. After a slow start in the first half of game 1, the 10U Jags went on to outscore their opponent in the second half. The 10U Jags battled for 28 minutes against finalist Comets in the second game. While the Jags did not get the “W”, it may have been their best-played game all weekend. The girls dominated their final game and finished the weekend 5th overall.
Fencor Youth Festival matched the 10U Jags against local power Fencor and Maryland District Gold Medalist - Maryland Sure Shots. 10U Jags carried play in their first 2 games against Kyniska and Doylestown Dynamite - winning both games. Feeling good after 2 good wins, things would not get any easier. 10U Jags had to dig deep and battle in a physical back and forth fight with Fencor, ultimately losing in a well played game by both teams by 6 points. The Maryland Sure Shots came to Pennsylvania to play – running all over the 10U Jags in the first half. However the 10U Jags weren’t going away quietly and would not allow the Sure Shots to intimidate them. The Jags battled in the 2nd half equaling the Sure Shots in points for the half. Great weekend of basketball!
With three tournaments under their belts, the 10U Jags look to continue to grow as a team and look forward to the challenges ahead.

12U White at the Fencor Youth Festival…
We had another interesting tournament splitting the tournament 50/50. Day one was disappointing with 2 losses. The first game we had many good shots but nothing would fall for us in the first half; we played strong in the second half but were unable to gain the lead. The second game we were lacking in defensive presence which we made up for in the third game. It was probably our best defensive performance to date and the girls were really hustling for all loose balls. The forth game, we dominated both offensively and defensively from the start of the game until the end, despite the very physical play.
